Hermosa Beach Police officers are asking for the public’s assistance in tracking down the person responsible for a recent string of home burglaries, beginning in August.
Police believe the burglar has broken into nine homes scattered in Hermosa Beach with the latest incidents occurring between Oct. 17 and Oct. 26. The first burglary occurred Aug. 5.
“The unknown suspect or suspects force entry into the home and steal valuables,” said Det. Brian Smyth. “Single-family homes have been attacked in the general area bounded by 190th Street, Pacific Coast Highway, Prospect Avenue and Artesia Boulevard. Residents are reminded to use appropriate security for their homes.”
The crimes have taken place during different hours of the day on different days of the week.
Detectives are following up on several leads and request the help of residents in reporting any kind of suspicious activity. Those with any information on the crimes are asked to call Smyth at 318-0330.
